Hello Petra,

With /Bacillus cereus /vegetative cells, we found that SYTO 9 and PI 
worked a treat.  I agree with everything that Bill Throndset wrote - if 
you can distinguish your cells from noise and debris using scatter 
parameters and gate these into a plot of green vs red fluorescence you 
should be able to distinguish permeabilised vs intact cells.
