Dear colleagues,

It is with great sadness and regret to inform you that Randy Fischer passed
away suddenly Wednesday night at his home in Maryland.

He was an exceptional friend to me here at the NIH and a learned colleague
to many in the fields of flow cytometry and immunology. An active
participant on the Purdue list and long-time ISAC member, he was a willing
teacher as well as an active student of flow cytometry. Always ready to
voice his opinion, he was just as eager to listen to new ideas.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Danzansky-Goldberg
Memorial Chapels, 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD (301-340-1400).

Anyone wishing to make a donation in Randy's memory can do so to the Boy
Scouts of America, National Capital Area Council or to the American Red
Cross, two organizations with which Randy had been actively involved for
many years.

Godspeed, my friend. You will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,
Jim Simone
