RE: Air compressor for FACS Aria

Hi Albert,

if you don't like the Aria fluidics cart compressor (it does the job but
is rather noisey), you can easily hook up any external clean pressurized
air supply to the cart via a reinforced hose and a CPC coupling. The
build-in compressor is then switched off via a switch on the cart's
side. You can get the right kind of hoses from any hardware store. The
coupling I got from the local CPC dealer, but BD can help you find the
right one, or even supply it if you ask nicely.

I do recommend installing a high-quality oil filter (two-stage) if you
take air from an oil compressor. We were surprised just how much oil
accumulates from very fine aerosol over failry short periods of time if
you run standard filtered air from such a compressor through liquid
(which may not be the case in the Aria, but I'm bringing this up because
the film builds up visibly on top of the liquid - which is easy to
detect).

Subject: Air compressor for FACS Aria

Hi Flow-ers,

I am wondering if anyone has experience of adding a JUN-AIR compressor
to their FACS Aria ? I talked to BD and they recommended model 6-25 but
the tech support could not tell me what other parts I would need to
connect the compressor to the Aria nor would he advise a protocol for
making that connection.

Your comments on part numbers and/or protocol would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Albert
