Dear Flowers,
We are in the process of developing a clinical assay to characterize different T cell subsets. I need inputs/suggestions/comments on the following naming conventions according to the phenotype. Any help is very much appreciated.

CD45+	Lymphocytes
CD3+	T cells
CD3+CD4+	Helper T cells
CD3+CD8+	Cytotoxic T cells
CD4+CD45RO-CD45RA+CD27+CD62L+	Total helper Naive T cells
CD4+CD45RO+CD45RA-	Total helper Memory T cells
CD4+CD45RA-CD45RO+CD27-CD62L-	Helper Effector Memory T cells
CD4+CD45RA-CD45RO+CD27+CD62L+	Helper Central Memory T cells
CD4+CD25+	Total TREGs
CD4+CD28+HLA-DR+	Activated Helper T cells
CD8+CD45RO-CD45RA+CD27+CD62L+	Total cytotoxic Naive T cells
CD8+CD45RO+CD45RA-	Total cytotoxic Memory T cells
CD8+CD45RA-CD45RO+CD27-CD62L-	cytotoxic Effector Memory T cells
CD8+CD45RA-CD45RO+CD27+CD62L+	cytotoxic Central Memory T cells
CD8+CD28+HLA-DR+	Activated cytotoxic T cells
CD4+CD25+CD127loCD45RO+CD45RA- Natural TREGs
CD4+CD25+CD62L+CD45RO+CD45RA-

CD4+CD25+CD127loCD45RO-CD45RA+	Naïve TREGs
CD4+CD25+CD62L+CD45RO-CD45RA+

CD4+CD25-CD127hi	Tr1/Th3

These are just tentative names given to the subsets according to the phenotype and based on the replies, we may end up changing these.

Thanks,
