Hi Fatima If you have access to "the web" I would look at the ATCC site as this contains quite a bit of information and references: http://www.lgcpromochem-atcc.com/common/catalog/numSearch/numResults.cfm?atccNum=CCL-243# 26059 One of the references (Dimery IW , et al. Variation amongst K562 cell cultures. Exp. Hematol. 11: 601-610, 1983.) heeds a note of caution, one I would endorse from my experience of cell lines, in that even if it says K562 on the vial it does not mean the cells will look or behave in the same way as another vial of K562. This, to my mind, is one of the concerns with working with cell lines. Although my understanding is that cell lines purchased from ATCC are "true to type". I would greatly appreciate any input you may have. Kindest regards, Fatema LegrandReceived on Fri Dec 15 12:18:00 2006
