This is not directly cytometry related. I am trying to learn the approximate doubling time for TALL-104 cells when grown with their usual supplement of rhIL-2. TALL-104 is a cytotoxic T cell line developed at Wistar and used in a few preclinical and phase I trials from 1996-2000. I have a project for them, but I need to allocate space and thus need to estimate growth rates. ATCC didn't know the doubling rate. Wistar was reluctant to divulge anything firm without MTAs in place. They gave me an off the cuff answer of one week, which seems excessive to me, especially in light of their normal culture in very large amounts of IL-2. Sadly, the originating PI passed away in 2004, and most of the work ended with her. The other originators are at Amgen, but I have been unable to contact them. The group here at MSKCC who worked with them has put the notebooks into deep storage offsite, which means they are not accessible. I could grow some myself and get a curve, but I need to know now, not in two weeks. If anyone on the list has used these cells, or knows someone who has, I would greatly appreciate a note with the doubling time and any other culture tips that are non-routine. Thanks in advance!
