fetal HbF by Flow

Dear Flowers,

I have entered a endless discussion with OB/GYN doctors about the utility of Fetal Hemoglobin testing by flow cytometry on non-STAT basis. Our lab has absolutely no resources to do 24/7 business.
Therefore, I am collecting additional information about clinical flow labs around US, which are currently performing Fetal HbF by flow.

For those , who are involved in any possible manner in HbF business: please help me by answering few questions.

1. How many (approximately) cases of obstetrical emergiences, when HbF is ordered, have you	received during last year?

2. Do you perform Flow test in STAT manner or you keep old-fashioned K-B test and confirm results by flow on the next business day?

3. Does your flow lab happen to be an independent facility or is it a part of all lab services (and people rotate to do hematology, blood banking, flow etc)?

Thank you in advance for your help. Irina
