Chris We are getting ready to do something similar on our MoFlo. We already sort some small bacteria with no problem (SSC log trigger). We looked at polystyrene beads recently and were easily able to resolve beads down to 0.21um diameter. If the mito stain bright enough you could also trigger on them.
