Greetings everyone: I would like to thank our speakers, attendees and vendors for contributing to another successful Boston Users Group for Cytometry [BUG] meeting this past September. We, as an educational organization wish to continue supporting our current and future members. We have examined our membership and find that we really have grown in size and geography over the last 11 years. As illustrated at the last meeting, we also find a greater impact of Imaging Technology in a "Flow Cytometry" laboratory. I would like to announce the new name for BUG - New England Cytometry. The New England Cytometry organization recognizes the overlapping and complementary features of both flow and image based cytometry. I am also very pleased to welcome four new members to our organizing committee; Natasha Barteneva, MD, Ph.D. from the CBR Institute, David Gebhard from Pfizer, Ruud Hulspas, Ph.D. from Cytonome and Peter Schaefer, Ph.D. from Hudson Valley Community College. I and the rest of the organizing committee look forward to working with Natasha, Ruud, David and Peter. I know their contributions will be appreciated by all of us. Our web site will evolve as well. When the new site is ready, we will announce the new link. You may still use our current web page for updates. http://www.bostoncytometry.org Our commitment to our members remains the same. I hope our new name and expanded emphasis will enhance cooperation and contribution from Cytometrists throughout New England and Nationwide. I look positively toward the future and working with all of you to enable our move forward. My very best regards, -Rich Richard F. Konz, Jr. President, New England Cytometry Richard F.
