Dear list and ISAC members: An investigator at our lab is interested in the following procedure to study muscular dystrophy in mouse models. He has a good idea but the reagents are a problem, mainly that there is no way to quantify the amount of annexin-V. I suggested we put this out to the experts and see if any of you have any leads that may help us. Thanks in advance for your help. Here is his message: I am interested in using an Annexin-V biotin kit for in vivo injection into mouse, followed by harvesting of skeletal muscle and embedding in parafin to detect apoptosis. I am planning to follow published techniques which use 25mg/kg body weight. I contacted Molecular Probes in the United States to find out what the concentration of the Annexin-V is in their kit (A13204) to determine whether there is enough Annexin-V in one kit to do the number of injections I need for my experiments. Unfortunately, they told me that the information on the concentration of Annexin-V in their product is proprietary information that they cannot reveal, so their product is useless to me. Does anyone have any information on concentrations of Annexin-V biotin labeling kits that I could use at the required concentrations for this in vivo injection study? Thanks, Roger B.
