Dear All, I would like to comment on the recent survey from CAP concerning DNA analysis. On page 1 of their booklet, they comment on the previous results from the first survey of 2005 (2005-Fl-A). 1. They stated that 64 of the 142 labs found only a diploid peak for FL-05. They then found out by reanalysis that the samples sent to these labs was an artifact in sampling and not in technique. Not very good quality control 2. They reported that the other sample had a DNA index of 1.07 but in fact was found to be 1.42. This error was due to the fact that they forgot to correct the report from the last time. Not very good reporting of the results to the participants 3. They did explain their errors in the present report for the second sampling of 2005. However, it did confuse many of us in their reports. Good that they did this. 4. The results from 2005 (Fl-B 2nd assay) seem to be better. Hopefully, CAP is back on track.Received on Fri Aug 19 12:38:00 2005
