Hi Alexander

Yes both DsRed and CFP work well in mice. I have made multicolor mice with
different fluorescent proteins expressed on different cell populations
(green B cells, red T cells...) For flow cytometry DsRed and GFP/YFP work
well together, on a calibur the only useful channel left with two
Fluorescent proteins is FL4 because DsRed comes in on both FL2 and
FL3. For true multicolor you might need to get hold of a cyan or similar
machine. Using customized filters on a cyan you can analyze 4 different
fluorescent proteins and 3 other antibodies, using CFP, GFP, YFP and DsRed
+ 1 channel off 488 (PE-CY7)+ 2 channels off the HeNe laser (APC)
(APC-CY7). Of course the true beauty of these mice is only seen by
microscopy. I am not currently distributing any mice, however there are
DsRed expressing mice available from Jackson.

Cheers

Mark
