I have a client who has been using 7AAD to measure apoptosis. She now thinks that she really needs to be measuring the difference between caspace dependent vs caspace independent apoptosis. She asked me if 7AAD was accomplishing this. After reading about 7AAD in molecular probes catalog, it is my opinion that it is not. I am looking for support (or not) that my interpretation of 7AAD is correct (or not). I am also looking for suggestions of other products that she may use to accomplish her goal; to measure caspace independent vs caspase dependent apoptosis.
