Overstaining question

Hi All,
I was given some information by someone that I find hard to believe even
though I think my source is reliable.
I was told that it might be possible to "overstain" cells causing them to
lose their fluorescence. This was specifically for a CD4 antibody.
Can anyone confirm or deny this information?

Thanks in advance!
Andy
