p38 and MAPKAPK-2 staining in whole mouse blood

I am trying to work out a protocol to measure the phospho-p38 or 
phospho-mapkapk-2 level in monocyte using whole mouse blood. The steps 
include surface marker staining, RBC lysing, and intracellular staining. 

Has anybody worked on this or similar experiment? Any suggestions will be 
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
