Subject: Happy Holidays and a New Year's Proposal
The reason to include a name in the subject line is to cut down on spam--no
name int he subject line, then you know it is spam and just chuck it out. I
don't know everyone on the list, and sometimes the subject heading is vague,
and sometimes spam headings look like something legit!
Hi Beverly,
Most email programs allow the sorting of messages based on filters or
rules which you set up. For example, you could send all messaages from The
Purdue Mailing List to a separate folder. This would at least allow you to
separate Purdue emails from cytometry messages which came from other
sources.
Regards,
Tom
