Subject: Happy Holidays and a New Year's Proposal

First let me wish everyone the best for the holiday season.

Now I'd like to propose that we have a name for our group in the subject line, for example

Subject: Purdue Flow List: then whatever topic you are posting on

The reason to include a name in the subject line is to cut down on spam--no name int he subject line, then you know it is spam and just chuck it out. I don't know everyone on the list, and sometimes the subject heading is vague, and sometimes spam headings look like something legit!

So Paul and the rest in charge, what do you think? The other e-mail groups I belong to insist on a name in the subject line, or the message does not post to the group.

I'm sure someone can come up with a clever and easy to remember name for this important group.
Now back to the partying (right, I've got caspase assays to run!).

Best,
Beverly
