Dear Flow Folks, A friend of mine forward some questions on the Cell-Dyn 4000..does anyone have experince with this instrument and can you help me answer her questions?? " we were evaluating the Cell-Dyn 4000 for its T cell subset counting abilities. Well, we've got it all set up and are ready to go with the comparing it to Simulset. Having reviewed the CDC guidelines, I am concerned about the Cell Dyn meeting the requirements. For instance it doesn't do the CD45/CD14 gating, and it's not clear how one would get a gate purity or proportion measurement. Basically, the Cell-Dyn 4000 just does the 5 part differential, with additional activated T cell, viable leukocyte, and nRBC counting features not found on previous Cell-Dyn versions. Then, it does a CD3/4 and CD3/8 identification and calculates the total CD4, total CD8, and total T cells. It does not do any CD19 or NK cell staining. Do you have any perspective on this question? " Thanks for any insights and happy holidays to you all! Jonni -- Jonni S.
